PROBLEM STATEMENT

The client belongs to the real estate appraisal industry in the US. The client’s company comprises a list of experienced US-designated certified appraisers. They help financial institutions and property owners assess real estate property value.

Currently, the client collects and feeds this information via a third-party web application. This data can be modified or edited to generate a final appraisal PDF. This PDF is created on top of several data points, sometimes more than 1,000 such points, fed into the application. While this information was neatly structured to deliver a self-explanatory report for the end user, our client was facing difficulties in integrating the data for the final report, for which they approached Zuci.

WHAT DID WE TRY TO SOLVE?

Automate end-to-end report generation for real-estate properties

Initially the process of generating a report by incorporating data points for property characteristics like – building area, rentable area, rental rate per square feet, property images, type of building, etc., took nearly five to ten days.

This meant that the client could only take care of 3 to 4 appraisals every month.

The client was keen on automating the process end-to-end to handle more cases within a reasonable time and with a more intelligent output.

WHAT DID WE TRY TO SOLVE?

The experts at Zuci started investigating the case and in the first phase created a base version – a minimum viable product, which was a lightweight web application with additional features not available in the existing mainstream third-party web application.
The newly designed web portal collects all the information and data from the mainstream application through ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process, and the appraisers can modify all the necessary information and integrate this into the corresponding template. (There are more than 20 templates in the system today).

The web application developed was cloud-based to ensure seamless access to all employees within the client’s company, no matter where they are located.

The web application was developed using Angular, Dotnet and PostgreSQL. There were also external plugins and components used to extend certain capabilities.
